October 24, 2026 – CHI Health Center Arena – Omaha, NE
The CHI Health Center Arena in downtown Omaha was the place to be on Saturday night, October 24, 2026, as Thomas Rhett brought his Soundtrack To Life Tour to town for an incredible night of country music.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get photo or review clearance for the opening acts, Zach John King and Emily Ann Roberts, but everyone I talked to said both of their sets were great.
I got there just in time to meet up with my media escort, and then it was straight to the soundboard!
The energy inside the arena was already high, and it was definitely a younger crowd. The stage setup looked really cool too, with hanging lights, smoke, and a mix of blue and orange hues that gave everything a really cool look.
Then it was time for Thomas Rhett!
Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. was born on March 30, 1990, and grew up around country music as the son of singer Rhett Akins. Over the years, he’s built a career that’s gone far beyond simply following in his father’s footsteps.
Rhett has released seven studio albums through Big Machine Records’ Valory Music imprint, including It Goes Like This, Tangled Up, Life Changes, Center Point Road, Country Again: Side A, Where We Started, and About a Woman.
His catalog is packed with hits.
Songs like “It Goes Like This,” “Get Me Some of That,” “Make Me Wanna,” “Crash and Burn,” “Die a Happy Man,” “T-Shirt,” “Unforgettable,” “Marry Me,” “Life Changes,” “Remember You Young,” “Look What God Gave Her,” “Country Again,” “Half of Me,” and “Mamaw’s House” have all helped turn him into one of the biggest names in modern country music.
He’s also written songs for other artists, including Jason Aldean, Lee Brice, Florida Georgia Line, LoCash, and Michael Ray.
His awards history is just as impressive.
Rhett has been recognized by nearly every major country music awards organization over the years. Early in his career, he earned nominations from the American Country Awards, CMT Music Awards, CMA Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, and American Country Countdown Awards.
In 2015, “Make Me Wanna” won recognition at the BMI Country Awards as one of the year’s Top 50 Songs.
“Die a Happy Man” became one of the biggest award-winning songs of his career. In 2016, it won Single Record of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards, Song of the Year at the CMA Awards, and Top Country Song at the Billboard Music Awards. The song also earned nominations at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, American Music Awards, CMA Awards, and Grammy Awards.
The following year, Thomas Rhett won Country Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and Male Vocalist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. “Die a Happy Man” also won ACM Song of the Year.
That same period brought even more nominations, including recognition for “T-Shirt,” “Star of the Show,” “Close” with Nick Jonas, and “Craving You” with Maren Morris.
In 2018, his album Life Changes earned a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album, and Rhett won Country Artist of the Year again at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. “Marry Me” was also recognized throughout the year and won Music Video of the Year at the CMA Awards.
In 2019, he won Male Artist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards and continued earning nominations from CMT, the CMA Awards, the American Music Awards, and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Center Point Road brought another Grammy nomination for Best Country Album in 2020. That same year, Rhett won Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards, while “Remember You Young” won ACM Video of the Year.
His run of nominations continued into 2021, when he won ACM Male Artist of the Year and was also nominated for Entertainer of the Year. Songs including “Some People Do,” “Be a Light,” and “What’s Your Country Song” received recognition across the Grammy Awards, ACM Awards, CMT Music Awards, and CMA Awards.
In 2022, “Country Again” earned another Grammy nomination for Best Country Song.
That’s a pretty incredible run of recognition.
Seeing him live made it easy to understand why he’s stayed near the top of country music for so long.
He looked and sounded great, and his energy stayed high throughout the show. The crowd was with him the entire time, singing along and reacting to just about everything he did.
This was my first time seeing Thomas Rhett live, and he absolutely delivered.
The production matched the size of the show without overwhelming it. The lighting and stage design gave the concert a big arena feel, but Rhett still managed to keep things personal and connected with the crowd.
That’s not always easy to do in a venue that size.
He currently has over 12 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and his latest single, “Where We Go,” is definitely worth adding to your country playlist.
Between the energy in the crowd and the production onstage, this was a great night of country music in downtown Omaha.
Thomas Rhett put on an awesome show, and I’m glad I finally got the chance to see him live.
Big thanks to his management team and the CHI Health Center for allowing me to cover the show!
