October 18, 2026 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE

There’s nothing better to do on a Sunday night in downtown Omaha than catch a rock show at Steelhouse.

Steelhouse has built a name for itself over the past few years by bringing in some amazing acts, and this night was no different. Skillet brought their Comatose 20 Years Still Screaming Tour to town, and they absolutely delivered.

This was my second time seeing Skillet live, and I think this show was even better than the first.

The night kicked off with Autumn Kings.

Autumn Kings is a Canadian rock band that formed in LaSalle, Ontario in 2015 before eventually relocating to Detroit. The group currently includes Jake Diab, Joseph Coccimiglio, and Troy Dawdy.

Their music pulls from influences like Linkin Park and Metallica, and you can definitely hear some of that heavier edge in their sound.

The band started independently before signing with Hopeless Records in 2024, and they’ve continued building a strong following ever since.

They came out with great energy and immediately got the crowd moving. They were a strong choice to open the night and did exactly what an opener should do.

Autumn Kings currently have over 902 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and their latest release, Epiphanies, is definitely worth checking out.

Great way to start the show!

Up next was Escape the Fate.

Escape the Fate is a rock band from Las Vegas that formed in 2004. The current lineup includes Craig Mabbitt on vocals, Robert Ortiz on drums, and guitarists Erik Jensen and Matti Hoffman.

The band released its debut album, Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, in 2006 with original vocalist Ronnie Radke. After Radke’s departure, Craig Mabbitt stepped in as lead singer, and the band released This War Is Ours in 2008.

Their self-titled third album followed in 2010 and became their highest-charting release on the Billboard 200 at the time. They continued with albums like Ungrateful and built a catalog that blends post-hardcore, hard rock, and metal influences.

I hadn’t heard of Escape the Fate before this night, but I was impressed.

They brought a lot of energy to the stage, and the crowd responded really well to them. They did a great job getting everyone even more fired up before the headliner.

They currently have over 3.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and their latest album, The Last Goodbye, is really good!

After a brief intermission and a set change, it was finally time for Skillet.

Skillet formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1995 and has grown into one of the most successful Christian rock bands in the world. The current lineup includes John Cooper on lead vocals and bass, Korey Cooper on guitar and keyboards, Jen Ledger on drums and vocals, and Seth Morrison on lead guitar.

Over the years, the band has released 12 studio albums and built an impressive catalog of massive songs.

Albums like Collide and Comatose both earned Grammy nominations, while Comatose, Awake, and Unleashed went on to receive major RIAA certifications. Songs including “Monster,” “Hero,” “Awake and Alive,” and “Feel Invincible” have all reached multi-platinum status.

Their awards history is just as impressive.

Skillet has earned multiple GMA Dove Award nominations and wins over the years, including wins for songs like “Comatose,” “Sick of It,” “Not Gonna Die,” “Good to Be Alive,” and “Legendary.” They’ve also won for albums like Rise and Victorious. The band has received Billboard Music Award nominations as well, and Awake won Christian Album at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.

Jen Ledger has also received individual recognition, winning the Drummies! Rising Star Award in 2012.

All of that success makes sense once you see them live.

They’re absolutely amazing in concert.

Their energy is off the charts, but what really stands out is how tight they are musically. Everything feels big and polished without losing the raw energy you want from a rock show.

The crowd was with them the entire time.

John Cooper knows how to command a stage, and Jen Ledger is always fun to watch behind the drums while also jumping in on vocals. The whole band brings a level of intensity that never really drops.

This tour also gave longtime fans a chance to celebrate Comatose, one of the albums that helped define Skillet’s career and introduced a whole new generation of fans to the band.

Hearing those songs live again was awesome.

Skillet currently has over 12.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and they don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

This was my second time seeing them live, and I’d gladly go again.

If you ever get the chance to see them in concert, make sure you do.

Fantastic show!
