Peter Frampton: The 2024 Never Say Never Tour

April 3, 2024 – Orpheum Theater – Omaha, NE

On April 3, 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a Peter Frampton concert at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha, Nebraska, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing.

For those who may not be familiar, Peter Frampton is a legendary British musician whose career spans over five decades. He first gained prominence as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the bands Humble Pie and The Herd before launching his solo career in the early 1970s. His breakthrough album, “Frampton Comes Alive!”, released in 1976, remains one of the best-selling live albums of all time and solidified his status as a rock icon.

As soon as he stepped on stage, it was clear that he hasn’t lost any of his musical prowess over the years. Despite being in his 70s, his guitar playing was as masterful as ever, with each riff and solo sending shivers down the spine of every audience member.

One of the highlights of the night was undoubtedly when Frampton broke into his signature song, “Show Me the Way.” As soon as those iconic opening chords rang out, the crowd erupted into cheers, singing along with every word. It was a moment of pure magic, as if we had all been transported back to the 1970s, experiencing the song for the very first time.

Throughout the concert, Frampton showcased his incredible versatility as a musician, effortlessly transitioning between soulful ballads like “Baby, I Love Your Way” to rockers like “Do You Feel Like We Do.”

His voice, still as soulful and powerful as ever, soared through the theater, captivating everyone in attendance.

What struck me the most about the concert was Frampton’s genuine love for performing. Despite his decades-long career and countless accolades, there was a sense of humility and gratitude that emanated from him with every note he played. It was evident that he was having just as much fun on stage as we were in the audience, and that infectious enthusiasm only served to make the night even more special.

Of course, no Peter Frampton concert would be complete without his iconic talk box guitar effect. Watching him work his magic with that device was like witnessing a magician perform a spell, casting a spellbinding aura over the entire theater. It’s moments like these that remind you why Frampton is considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

As the concert drew to a close, and Frampton bid farewell to the audience, there was a palpable sense of bittersweetness in the air. We didn’t want the night to end, but we were grateful for the memories that we had made together. As we filed out of the theater, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to witness a living legend in action.

If you ever have the chance to attend a Peter Frampton concert, don’t hesitate. It’s more than just a concert; it’s a journey through decades of incredible music, performed by a true master of his craft. What a great night!
