Chevelle, Asking Alexandria & Dead Poet Society

August 12, 2025 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE

Steelhouse in Omaha was the place to be on Tuesday night, August 12, 2025, as Chevelle brought their summer tour to town with support from Dead Poet Society and Asking Alexandria. It was one of the best rock shows I’ve been to in a long time, and every band on the lineup delivered.

The night started with Dead Poet Society, a four-piece consisting of Jack Underkofler, Jack Collins, Dylan Brenner, and Will Goodroad. Formed in 2013, they’ve been steadily carving out a name for themselves with their mix of alt-rock grit and moody atmosphere. Their debut album -!- landed them critical attention, and they’ve toured with heavy-hitters like Badflower and Biffy Clyro while building a devoted fanbase. With over 892,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, it feels like they’re right on the edge of breaking big. Their latest single, “Running In Circles” (stripped), is hauntingly beautiful, and live, they brought an incredible energy that made you feel every note. Deep red and blue lighting washed over the stage during their set, adding to the intensity. It was an awesome way to kick things off.

  • I hope you hate me.

Next up was Asking Alexandria, and wow—these guys just keep getting better every time I see them. The band’s current lineup—Cameron Liddell (guitar), James Cassells (drums), Danny Worsnop (vocals), and Sam Bettley (bass)—was firing on all cylinders. Danny’s vocals were absolutely phenomenal, and when he stripped things back and went acoustic for a couple of songs, it was flat-out chilling. Asking Alexandria has been a major force in the metalcore/post-hardcore scene for years, with multiple albums charting in the Billboard Top 10. They even won Best British Band at the 2012 Kerrang! Awards and have been nominated for Alternative Press Music Awards as well. With over 3 million monthly Spotify listeners, they continue to evolve, and their latest Where Do We Go From Here remix EP is definitely worth adding to your heavy playlist. Their set was so strong they could’ve easily headlined.

  • Dark Void
  • Down to Hell
  • Into the Fire

Finally, after a quick intermission, it was time for Chevelle, and the wait was more than worth it. Brothers Pete Loeffler (vocals, guitar) and Sam Loeffler (drums), along with touring bassist Kemble Walters, sounded as massive as ever. Since forming in 1995, Chevelle has built one of the most consistent careers in modern rock, selling over 6 million albums in the U.S. and earning multiple platinum and gold records. Their 2002 album Wonder What’s Next alone produced enduring hits like “The Red” and “Send the Pain Below,” both of which still hit just as hard live today. With over 5.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, they remain a staple of alternative metal. At Steelhouse, they tore through a set packed with fan favorites and a few deep cuts, backed by crushing sound, swirling smoke, and killer lighting effects that made the performance feel larger than life.

All in all, it was one of those rare nights where every band on the bill felt like a headliner. Dead Poet Society brought the intensity, Asking Alexandria brought the power, and Chevelle closed things out in classic, hard-hitting fashion. A truly unforgettable show!
