Gregory Alan Isakov: 2025 Summer Tour

August 18, 2025 – The Astro – La Vista, NE

The Astro in La Vista, Nebraska was the place to be on Monday night, August 18, 2025, because Gregory Alan Isakov brought his 2025 summer tour to town.

There was a mixup with my media pass, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to take any photos during his performance, but that turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it allowed me to laser focus on his musical talent without any distractions.

There was no opener for the show, which meant fans didn’t have to wait to see him. The lights dimmed, the fog rolled in, and Isakov walked straight out with his guitar, ready to go.

Isakov, who was born in South Africa and grew up in Philadelphia, has built an incredible career in the indie-folk world with his heartfelt songwriting and poetic lyrics. He’s released several acclaimed albums, including Evening Machines, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album in 2019. His music has been praised for its cinematic quality, and it’s no wonder he has more than 7.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

On stage, he sounded absolutely amazing, and his band was spot on the entire night. He played all of his fan favorites along with a few deep cuts, keeping the crowd fully engaged from start to finish. The highlight of the night for me was hearing “The Stable Song.” The audience sang along softly, and the room felt completely still, like everyone was caught up in the moment.Gregory Alan Isakov doesn’t need flashy production or over-the-top effects to hold an audience. His performance was intimate, heartfelt, and moving, proving once again why he’s one of the most respected voices in modern folk music.

Isakov’s newest single “Flowers” featuring Nathaniel Rateliff is definitely worth checking out. It’s a stunning track that belongs on any alternative indie playlist and shows how he continues to evolve as an artist while staying true to his folk roots.

If you get the chance to see him live, make sure you do!
