December 2, 2025 – Baxter Arena – Omaha, NE
Tuesday night, December 2, 2025, the Baxter Arena in midtown Omaha, Nebraska played host to two absolute icons of rock music as Heart and Cheap Trick rolled into town for an unforgettable night.
The night kicked off with the legendary Cheap Trick, and from the moment they hit the stage, the energy was undeniable. Cheap Trick formed back in 1973 in Rockford, Illinois, and has been cranking out hits for over five decades. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, and their legendary live album Cheap Trick at Budokan helped launch them into superstardom worldwide. The band has multiple platinum albums, countless radio staples, and helped define power pop and arena rock as we know it.
The current lineup includes Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, and Tom Petersson — and these guys were an absolute blast to watch. You could tell the crowd was loving every second of it. They ripped through a ton of their biggest hits, and honestly, if you would’ve asked me before the show if I thought I’d ever hear “The Flame” live, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Hearing it in person was absolutely amazing. Cheap Trick currently has over 3.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and they’ve just released a new album called All Washed Up, which you should definitely check out. They’ve been in the rock and roll game a long time, but they still know exactly how to get a crowd fired up. Fantastic set.
After a brief intermission, it was time for Heart — and this was a true bucket-list moment for me. Heart formed in the early 1970s and became one of the most successful rock bands of all time, led by the powerhouse Wilson sisters. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 and made history as one of the first female-fronted hard rock bands to dominate the charts. Over the years, they’ve delivered countless iconic hits and have sold over 35 million records worldwide.
The current lineup for Heart consists of Ann Wilson, Nancy Wilson, Ryan Waters, Ryan Wariner, Paul Moak, Tony Lucido, and Sean T. Lane. From the moment they took the stage, Ann and Nancy absolutely commanded the room. Both sounded incredible, and you could feel how locked-in the crowd was from start to finish. Heart’s catalog is filled with legendary songs, and hearing them live was a dream come true. When they launched into “Alone” near the end of the set, I got full-on goosebumps — one of those moments you don’t forget.
Heart currently has over 9.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and it’s easy to see why their music continues to reach new generations. It was really cool to see fans in attendance who were both young and old, all singing along and soaking in every note from these two iconic bands.
Two legendary sets, one incredible night of music. Absolutely unforgettable!
