AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash

December 31, 2025 – Liberty First Federal Credit Union Arena – Ralston, NE

AEW closed out 2025 in a big way with AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash on Wednesday night at the Liberty First Federal Credit Union Arena in Ralston, Nebraska. From title changes to heated standoffs, this felt like both a finale and a launchpad for what’s coming in 2026.

The night kicked off with new AEW World Champion MJF unveiling a revamped Triple B championship, but the celebration didn’t last long. A surprise message from Kenny Omega immediately put MJF on notice, and things escalated fast when Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland tried to get their hands on the champ. Add Samoa Joe to the mix, and it is clear the AEW World Title picture is already chaos heading into the new year.

The Death Riders had a strong showing throughout the night, highlighted by Jon Moxley grinding out a tough Continental Championship Eliminator win over Josh Alexander. Post-match, the staredown with MVP and Shelton Benjamin made it feel like Moxley’s reign is only going to get more dangerous.

In singles action, Ricochet retained the AEW National Championship against “Jungle” Jack Perry in a fast-paced, interference-filled battle that kept the crowd locked in. Bandido also picked up a big win over The Beast Mortos, continuing to build momentum ahead of his upcoming AEW World Title shot.

The main event was the heart of the night. Willow Nightingale defeated Mercedes Moné in a hard-hitting, emotional TBS Championship match to become the first-ever two-time TBS Champion. The post-match celebration — capped off by an embrace with AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander — was a feel-good moment that sent the crowd home happy.Between the surprises, title implications, and strong in-ring action, New Year’s Smash delivered exactly what it promised: a memorable sendoff to 2025 and a stacked setup for AEW in 2026!

AEW always delivers!
