July 12, 2025 – Stir Cove – Council Bluffs, IA
Saturday night, July 12, 2025, Stir Cove in Council Bluffs, Iowa was the place to be for thousands of country music fans. With a stacked lineup and perfect summer weather, the atmosphere was electric from start to finish as Cole Swindell headlined an unforgettable night.
The evening kicked off with Canadian country singer Madeline Merlo, and she absolutely crushed her set. With a powerful voice and captivating stage presence, she proved she’s more than just a rising star—she’s the real deal. Merlo, who won the Canadian Country Music Association’s Rising Star Award in 2015 and competed on NBC’s Songland (where her song “Champagne Night” was picked up by Lady A), has been making waves in Nashville. She looked and sounded amazing, and her band was tight and full of energy. A standout moment was her cover versions of Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” and Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5”—a mix of modern flair and country classic that had the crowd fired up. A perfect way to start the show.
Next up was Dylan Schneider, and this guy brought the heat. With over 575,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and a growing fanbase, he’s quickly becoming a name to watch in country music. His 2024 album Puzzled is filled with catchy hooks and heartfelt lyrics, and he delivered them live with serious enthusiasm. Known for blending modern country with pop-rock energy, Schneider has toured with big names like Florida Georgia Line and Chris Lane. His energy was contagious, and it was clear the crowd was loving every minute of it. His band was clearly having a blast, and so was everyone in the audience.
After a quick intermission, it was time for the main event—Cole Swindell. From the moment he hit the stage, it was clear why he’s one of country music’s most consistent hitmakers. With a stack of No. 1 singles, a CMA Award for Song of the Year (“She Had Me at Heads Carolina”), and ACM New Artist of the Year honors under his belt, Swindell showed exactly why he’s a fan favorite.
Dressed in blue jeans, a flannel shirt, cowboy boots, and his signature ball cap, Swindell looked every bit the down-to-earth star. His vocals were spot-on and his connection with the crowd was undeniable. He played hit after hit, and the audience sang along to every word. My favorite moment of the night was hearing “Forever To Me” live—an emotional ballad that hit all the right notes. This was my second time seeing Cole Swindell live, and he once again proved that he’s a must-see performer.
From start to finish, this was a fantastic night of country music. Great artists, a high-energy crowd, and a killer venue—if you get the chance to see Cole Swindell and company live, don’t miss it!
