Yelawolf & Prof Dazzle Fans at The Astro

July 14, 2024 – The Astro – La Vista, NE

Holy smokes!

Yelawolf & Prof absolutely killed it in La Vista, Nebraska on July 14, 2024 when they invaded The Astro.  Thousands of fans packed the venue and they definitely got their money’s worth!

The night kicked off with GRIP, an Atlanta rapper known for his intricate lyrics and versatile flows.  He’s made a name for himself by focusing on musically rich instrumentals rather than following typical trap trends. His first two commercial mixtapes, Porch (2017) and Snubnose (2019), are packed with storytelling and conceptual flair, which eventually caught the attention of Eminem’s Shady Records.

After the pandemic, Eminem reached out with a contract offer, and in August 2021, GRIP dropped his first LP, I Died for This!?, featuring collaborations with Eminem, Royce da 5’9″, Big Rube, Dead Cassettes, and Wiley from Atlanta.

He had great energy and did a great job of getting everyone in the crowd primed for the rest of the show.  GRIP has over 172 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and his latest single, “Where U At?” is definitely worth checking out!

Next to the stage was Cowboy Killer, and this guy tore it up!

Cowboy Killer knows how to light up a stage and get the crowd fired up. Born in Ohio and raised in a log cabin on a farm in the Appalachian hills, he’s lived all over—from North Carolina to Florida, Tennessee to New Mexico—hustling and recording to kickstart his career. Starting out as an engineer and writer, he quickly stole the spotlight worldwide with his debut release, GOOD FOR LIFE.

Hitting the road with Yelawolf and Caskey, Cowboy Killer showed he’s more than just a talented emcee; he’s a boundless artist. He’s earned respect in both the hip-hop and fashion worlds, working with Grammy winner Lupe Fiasco, Danny Brown, Very Rare, and Virgil Abloh. He’s also collaborated with Yelawolf, Jellyroll, Deffie, and many more. Together with producer Kaelin Ellis, their collective, Good For Life, is more than just a powerful movement—it’s a global brand helping thousands find self-love.

Throughout his set, he danced around the stage with an almost frantic energy, and at one point, crowd-surfed while the crowd went crazy.  Cowboy Killer has just over 72 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and his latest single ft. Yelawolf, “Rich From the Dirt,” is awesome!

After a brief intermission, it was time for Prof!  As the lights dimmed and Prof took the stage, wearing a light blue shirt and red ski mask, the crowd erupted.  The heat inside the venue didn’t stop Prof from delivering an absolutely amazing 80 minute set.

Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Prof has nailed the blend of blue-collar hard work and top-notch content, all while keeping things light-hearted. His seventh studio album, Horse, dropped in April 2023, under his own Stophouse Music Group label.

This guy’s charisma is off the charts, and he had an infectious vibe that just made you want to jump around and have a good time.

His setlist was packed with hits, blending tracks from Powderhorn Suites and more recent songs from Horse. Every song was a party, and his banter between tracks had everyone cracking up. He’s got this perfect mix of not taking himself too seriously while still delivering some seriously good music.

His energy never dipped once during the show, and he kept everyone hyped up from start to finish. Plus, the production was top-notch with killer visuals and lighting that just added to the overall experience.  At one point he even laid on a raft and crowd surfed through The Astro!

If you ever get the chance to see Prof live, do it. It’s not just a concert; it’s a freaking party!

As if the previous two and a half hours of music wasn’t enough, after a brief set change, it was time for Yelawolf!

Most of his music reflects his diverse influences, from Lynyrd Skynyrd to OutKast, he’s developed quite a reputation for his rapid-fire flow and gritty storytelling. He also has a unique style, sporting cool tattoos, vintage clothing, and various hats.
