April 20, 2025 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE

Steelhouse in Omaha, Nebraska was the place to be on Sunday night, April 21, 2025, as Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium brought their co-headlining The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour to town for an unforgettable night of heavy metal. Thousands of fans packed the venue on a cold and rainy Easter evening, but inside, the energy was electric as four incredible bands lit up the stage.

The night exploded into action with Scottish metalcore band Bleed From Within. These guys wasted no time whipping the crowd into a frenzy—mosh pits broke out, and crowd surfers started flying within minutes. Frontman Scott Kennedy brought insane energy and killer vocals that set the tone for the night. With nearly 650,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and their latest album Zenith making serious waves, they’re a must-add for any hardcore metal playlist.

Next up was August Burns Red, and they absolutely crushed it. Hailing from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, this band has been tearing it up since 2003. Their current lineup—guitarists JB Brubaker and Brent Rambler, drummer Matt Greiner, vocalist Jake Luhrs, and bassist Dustin Davidson—has been solid since 2006, and it shows. Their stage presence was unreal, keeping the crowd hyped from the first note to the last. Like Bleed From Within, they boast over 650,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and they’re not slowing down anytime soon. Their newly released Thrill Seeker: 20th Anniversary Edition proves they still hit just as hard two decades later.

After two epic openers, the crowd was fully amped and ready for the headliners.

Following a short break, it was finally time for Trivium!

First, a little background on the band.  Trivium is a metal band from Orlando, Florida, known for mixing thrash, metalcore, and melodic metal into their powerful sound. Formed in 1999 by guitarist Matt Heafy, they blew up with their 2005 album Ascendancy, which Kerrang! named Album of the Year. Since then, they’ve dropped a string of hard-hitting albums like The Crusade, Shogun, and In Waves, and toured with legends like Metallica and Iron Maiden.

The band earned a Grammy nomination in 2019 for Best Metal Performance with “Betrayer” and continues to crush it live and on the charts. With over two decades in the game, Trivium has cemented their place as one of modern metal’s most important bands.

They were on their game in Omaha!  Matt Heafy sounded just as good as ever, delivering crushing vocals with killer energy — and sticking his tongue out mid-scream more times than we could count, which just amped the crowd up even more. The pit was wild, with bodies flying everywhere thanks to nonstop crowd surfing. Throughout their set, the band made a point to thank the crowd multiple times, and you could tell they genuinely appreciated every fan in the room. It was pure chaos in the best way possible, and Trivium proved once again why they’re one of the best live metal acts around. So good!

If all that wasn’t enough, we still had Bullet For My Valentine ready to take the stage for their co-headlining set!

In case you’re not familiar, Bullet For My Valentine is a metal band that exploded onto the scene in the early 2000s with their mix of heavy riffs, emotional lyrics, and catchy hooks. Formed in 1998 under the name Jeff Killed John, they eventually rebranded and dropped their breakthrough debut The Poison in 2005 — an album that quickly made them one of the biggest names in modern metal. Follow-up albums like Scream Aim Fire, Fever, and Venom kept the momentum going, packing arenas and festival stages all over the world.

They’ve racked up a ton of achievements over the years, including winning Best British Band multiple times at the Kerrang! Awards, along with a bunch of nominations for their albums and live performances. The Poison alone went gold in the U.S. and platinum in the U.K. Bullet’s mix of heavy metal energy and big choruses helped bridge metalcore into the mainstream, and they’re still going strong, showing no signs of slowing down.

These guys know how to put on a show. From the second they hit the stage, the energy was through the roof. The crowd was already wild from the earlier sets, but Bullet took it to another level with their massive riffs, huge choruses, and nonstop intensity. Matt Tuck’s vocals were on point all night, switching effortlessly between clean melodies and heavy screams. The band sounded super tight, and the crowd sang along to almost every song, especially the big hits like “Tears Don’t Fall.” You could tell Bullet was feeding off the energy — they looked genuinely fired up to be there. It was the kind of set that reminded everyone why they’ve been one of the biggest names in metal for almost two decades.
