In case you’re not aware, The Thorn is a visually stunning, immersive theater production that brings the story of the Bible to life in a way you’ve never seen before. Blending powerful acting, dynamic choreography, and breathtaking aerial acrobatics, The Thorn tells the story of Jesus in an artistic and cinematic style. It’s often described as a mix of Cirque du Soleil and The Passion of the Christ, with intense fight scenes, emotional storytelling, and dramatic music.

Originally created as a small church production, The Thorn has grown into a national tour that attracts audiences of all ages. The show is known for its impressive stunts, intricate costumes, and the ability to move the audience through its blend of entertainment and spirituality.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but by the time the production was over, I was absolutely blown away.  It was an incredible production from start to finish. The backgrounds were absolutely stunning, with dramatic lighting and rich visuals that made each scene feel like it was straight out of a movie. The costumes were just as impressive, with detailed designs that added a lot of depth to the storytelling—everything from the robes to the armor was on point. The music score was phenomenal. It set the mood perfectly, switching from intense to emotional at just the right moments, really pulling you into the story.

Some of the scenes, like the whipping and the crucifixion, were definitely hard to watch. They were bloody and raw, but that intensity felt necessary to really capture the gravity of what was happening. It was uncomfortable, but it made the message of sacrifice and redemption hit even harder. Those moments gave the production a level of realism and emotional weight that took it beyond just a beautiful show.

All in all, The Thorn was a powerful experience that was visually stunning, emotionally moving, and unforgettable. If you have a chance to see it, make sure you do.  Absolutely fantastic!
