September 6, 2025 – Heartland of America Park – Omaha, NE
Saturday, September 6, 2025, was one for the books in downtown Omaha. The very first Tacos & Tequila Festival in Omaha took over the Heartland of America Park at the Riverfront, and it was absolutely awesome. From the start, you could tell this event was going to be huge—by the morning it was already completely sold out, and people were even being turned away at the gate because they had reached full capacity.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for an outdoor festival, and the vibe was just right. Everywhere you looked there was something fun going on—food trucks serving up tacos, drinks flowing, live pro wrestling, hip hop and rap acts keeping the crowd hyped, and even a chihuahua beauty pageant thrown into the mix. It truly felt like a little bit of everything rolled into one big party.
The sponsors came through big time, with Tapatío Frozen Meals, Social House Entertainment, TIXR, Cayman Jack, and White Claw all involved. Masked Republic was on site as the main vendor, and Magnum Wrestling, Omaha’s own, brought in their crew to provide the wrestling action.
The music lineup was stacked. DJ Ashton Martin kept the energy going all day long, and the throwback artists were a blast from the past in the best way. Mike Jones, Bubba Sparxxx, Twista, Petey Pablo, Ying Yang Twins, and Bow Wow all brought their hits to the stage, and then Lil Jon closed it out with a headlining set that had the crowd losing their minds.
It wasn’t just the music that kept people entertained. Between the sets, the wrestlers from Magnum Wrestling took over with matches that drew huge crowds. Fans packed in around the ring, cheering and booing as favorites clashed. The main event between Nino Hatchet and Alvin Falcone was a hard-hitting, back-and-forth battle, but the whole roster—Brandon Nytro, Duke Cornell, Dexter Daniels, Brixton Nash, Urijah Upton, Rellie Carter, Sadie Belle, and Shazza McKenzie—helped make the wrestling just as much of a highlight as the music.
The Tacos & Tequila Festival was a huge success. Between the food, the drinks, the music, the wrestling, and the overall atmosphere, it really had something for everyone. For me, the throwback music and wrestling were the highlights, but everywhere I looked people were having a great time. Hopefully this becomes an annual tradition in Omaha, because the first one definitely didn’t disappoint.
