August 20, 2025 – Stir Cove – Council Bluffs, IA

It was a hot Wednesday night at Stir Concert Cove in Council Bluffs, Iowa, but luckily the weather cooled off as the night went on. Thousands of fans packed into the cove for Simple Plan’s Bigger Than You Think 2025 Tour, and they definitely got their money’s worth—four bands and nearly four hours of music made it feel like a mini festival. The openers were LØLØ, Bowling For Soup, and 3OH!3, in that order.

LØLØ kicked things off with a high-energy set. She’s a Canadian pop-punk artist who’s been gaining serious momentum over the last few years. Known for viral tracks on TikTok and collabs with artists like Maggie Lindemann and girlfriends, she’s already earned millions of streams on Spotify and has become a staple in the new wave of pop-punk. Her set was amazing, and you could tell the crowd was into it.

Bowling For Soup took the stage next, and for me, they were the most fun of the night. Formed back in 1994, these guys are pop-punk legends best known for hits like “1985,” “Girl All the Bad Guys Want,” and “High School Never Ends.” They were even nominated for a Grammy in 2003 for “Girl All the Bad Guys Want.” Their setlist was like a time machine straight back to my early college years, and the whole crowd was singing along. So much fun!

Then came 3OH!3, the electro-pop duo from Boulder, Colorado, known for their wild energy and catchy hooks. They blew up in the late 2000s with “Don’t Trust Me” and their collab with Ke$ha, “My First Kiss.” They’ve had multiple charting singles and a Billboard Music Award nomination to their name. Their set was upbeat, loud, and kept the party vibes rolling into the night.

After a short intermission, it was finally time for Simple Plan. When Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Jeff Stinco, and Sébastien Lefebvre walked on stage, the place went crazy. Simple Plan has been a staple in the pop-punk scene since the early 2000s, with over 10 million albums sold worldwide. They’ve won multiple MuchMusic Video Awards in Canada, a Teen Choice Award, and their songs have soundtracked everything from movies like Scooby-Doo to the Warped Tour era of our lives. Today, they have over 9.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and their latest single “Young & Dumb” with Avril Lavigne proves they’re still going strong.

Pierre sounded fantastic, and you could tell he was having a blast. One of the coolest moments of the night was when LØLØ joined the band onstage to perform “Jet Lag.” Later, Pierre even ran out into the crowd toward the end of the show, which sent everyone into a frenzy. They also brought fans up on stage for “What’s New Scooby Doo?”—a perfect moment of nostalgia that had everyone grinning. Add in lights, smoke, giant balloons tossed into the crowd, and confetti cannons, and it felt like one big party.

Simple Plan put on a show that reminded everyone why they’ve lasted this long in the music world. High energy, nonstop fun, and a perfect mix of old hits and new songs—it was the kind of night that leaves you hoarse from singing but smiling all the way home.
