Portugal. The Man Rocks Steelhouse

July 7, 2024 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE

Steelhouse Omaha was the place to be on Sunday night July 7, 2024 because Portugal. The Man brought their 2024 tour to Omaha, Nebraska, and it was awesome!

Unfortunately I wasn’t approved to cover their opener for the night, Spoon Benders, but I heard they were fantastic.

As I entered the venue, fans were eagerly awaiting Portugal. The Man’s arrival, and after a short introduction, they appeared and the crowd went crazy!

For those of you that are unfamiliar, Portugal. The Man is an American rock band from Wasilla, Alaska, formed in 2004. Known for their eclectic style and experimental sound, they blend rock, pop, and psychedelic influences.

The group has a huge following, and as of this writing, they have over 11.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and their smash hit “Feel It Still,” which won the group a Grammy Award back in 2017, currently has over 1.3 billion streams!

The band’s lineup has seen changes over the years, but frontman John Gourley has been a constant presence. Currently, the band consists of Gourley, Zachary Carothers, Kyle O’Quin, Eric Howk, and Zoe Manville.

John Gourley’s vocals were on point, and the whole band sounded tight and polished. They played a great mix of songs from their different albums, including a few surprises that had everyone singing along. “Feel It Still” was, of course, a highlight, and the live version was even more fun than the studio recording.

The stage setup was super cool, with trippy visuals and lighting that matched the vibe of their music perfectly. They also had a great rapport with the audience, sharing little stories and jokes between songs, which made the whole experience feel really personal and connected.

Musically speaking, this was one hell of a show! Portugal. The Man definitely knows how to entertain, and they give fans their money’s worth.  If you get a chance to see Portugal. The Man live, don’t miss it!
