Paranormal Cirque Brings the Thrills!

On Sunday afternoon, September 29, 2024, the Westroads Mall parking lot was completely transformed into a spine-chilling spectacle when Paranormal Cirque rolled into town.

Paranormal Cirque is not your typical circus—it’s a dark, edgy, and immersive experience that blends circus arts with horror and theater, creating a truly unique live show. A part of the Cirque Italia family, Paranormal Cirque tours across the U.S., setting up its signature black-and-red striped big top in parking lots and open spaces, drawing in thrill-seekers and fans of the macabre.

What makes Paranormal Cirque stand out is its commitment to an adult-themed, horror-inspired atmosphere. This is not a kid-friendly event—it’s geared toward those who enjoy a good scare. 

Think of it as a mix between a haunted house, a circus, and a twisted cabaret show. The performers combine aerial acrobatics, contortion, fire performances, and mind-bending illusions with a creepy, paranormal twist. The show is packed with incredible stunts, but there’s also a storyline woven throughout that ties everything together in a creepy, entertaining way.

Paranormal Cirque has a talented cast of performers who are experts in their craft, from high-flying trapeze artists to terrifying clowns and dancers who add to the eerie vibe. The show often features a ringmaster who guides the audience through the night, keeping them on edge with their dark sense of humor and creepy antics. This particular go around, it was hosted by two hilarious comedians that interacted with the audience perfectly.

The show’s creators, led by Manuel Rebecchi, the mastermind behind Cirque Italia, wanted to offer something different from the family-friendly shows the company is known for. With Paranormal Cirque, they’ve successfully captured the imaginations of horror fans and adrenaline junkies alike, crafting a performance that shocks, entertains, and leaves you wanting more. The show is always evolving too, with new stunts and stories being added to keep things fresh for repeat viewers.

While Paranormal Cirque doesn’t have a long list of mainstream awards, it’s carved out its own niche in the live entertainment world. It has become a cult favorite for fans of both circus arts and horror. This was my second time seeing the production live, and I think it’s only gotten better. 

People were raving about the incredible talent on display and the immersive, spine-tingling atmosphere.
