August 22, 2025 – Stir Cove – Council Bluffs, IA
August 22, 2025, was one of those perfect summer nights at Stir Cove in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Old Dominion rolled into town with their How Good Is That Tour for a two-night concert event, and thousands of fans packed the cove. Everyone definitely got their money’s worth—good vibes, good music, and a band that knows how to put on a show.
Old Dominion has become one of the biggest names in modern country music since forming in 2007. The band—Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung, and Brad Tursi—has racked up some serious accomplishments over the years. They’ve won the CMA Award for Vocal Group of the Year multiple times, taken home ACM Awards for Group of the Year, and earned several hits on both the country and pop charts. With over 9.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify and a steady stream of radio favorites, they’ve carved out a sound that mixes country storytelling with pop hooks in a way fans can’t resist. Their latest album, Barbara, is absolutely worth adding to your country playlist.
One cool thing about the Council Bluffs stop was that Old Dominion didn’t have an opener. Fans didn’t have to wait long to hear the band they came for, and the guys hit the stage ready to go. From the moment they walked out, Old Dominion looked and sounded fantastic. The production was slick, with a cool set design and a massive video screen behind them that added a lot to the overall experience. The crowd was locked in from the first note, singing along to hit after hit. You could feel the energy bouncing back and forth between the band and the fans all night long.
This was my first time seeing Old Dominion live, and I was impressed by how genuine they were on stage. Their energy was contagious, and it was obvious they appreciate their fans just as much as the fans appreciate them. Between the big sing-alongs, the laid-back moments, and the top-notch performance, it was the kind of concert that makes you want to catch them again the next time they’re in town.
Great show from start to finish!
