NXT Slams into Des Moines

September 26, 2019 – Wells Fargo Arena – Des Moines, IA

From its humble beginnings as a WWE developmental league, to a world-wide brand, NXT is the place to find professional wrestling in its purest form.  On Thursday night September 26th, NXT invaded the Hy-Vee Hall inside the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.  There were no final advertisements as to what wrestlers would be appearing or what matches were scheduled, so each match and each superstar that appeared gave a feeling of anticipation throughout the night.  The action kicked off with former Ultimate Fighter and MMA superstar Matt Riddle defeating Ridge Holland.  The fans went crazy for Riddle, and his appearance was a nice surprise for the fans in attendance.  The rest of the card included two title matches and appearances by NXT fan favorites such as Keith Lee, Rhea Ripley, and Pete Dunne.  NXT recently landed a television deal on the USA Network, and with its new crop of sports entertainers, it’s easy to see why it’s becoming a world-recognized brand in professional wrestling.
