There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than by celebrating with some of the most famous drag queens in the world! On Friday night, December 16th, Murray & Peter present: A Drag Queen Christmas, made its way to Omaha’s Orpheum Theater. A few thousand fans packed the theater to witness the 8th annual holiday spectacular. Hosted by Nina West (currently on tour as Edna Turnbald in the Broadway musical Hairspray), the show featured performances by Alyssa Edwards, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Crystal Methyd, Jimbo The Drag Clown, Jasmine Kennedie, Jan Sport, and Silky Ganache. The elaborate Christmas-inspired stage design set the tone for all of the holiday cheer. Each of the queens performed two numbers and were joined onstage with two hunky backup dancers, lights, and pyrotechnics. All of the queens looked absolutely amazing and spoke to the crowd after their numbers. Nina West was absolutely fantastic as the show’s emcee, and kept the show moving along nicely with her comedic commentary. Although the crowd loved all the queens, Alyssa Edwards was definitely a fan favorite. Jimbo The Drag Clown kept the crowd on their toes, and at one point, threw pieces of bologna at the roaring crowd. I even got hit with a slice of bologna right in the forehead! The show was absolutely fantastic, and I definitely recommend attending it if you have the chance. All of the queens were so gracious throughout the evening, and some even stayed on stage after the show had ended to interact with fans. A Drag Queen Christmas is definitely a fun way to celebrate the holidays. I can’t wait until next year!
