October 12, 2025 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE
It was an amazing night of country music in downtown Omaha, Nebraska on Sunday, October 12, 2025, as Maddox Batson brought his I Need A Truck Tour to town. The show was one of those feel-good country nights where the crowd, the music, and the energy all clicked perfectly.
Kicking off the evening was Ryder Grimes, a talented artist from North East Texas who’s clearly no stranger to the stage. He’s been performing since he was just nine years old and has spent thousands of hours perfecting his craft. Growing up surrounded by the sounds of traditional and Texas country, his influences are easy to hear — legends like Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley, and Tracy Lawrence, blended with the Texas edge of Randy Rogers, Deryl Dodd, and Charlie Robison. Ryder has already made his mark with two singles hitting the Top 10 on Texas Radio and his independent debut album reaching the Top 50 on iTunes within its first 24 hours. He’s also been named “Emerging Artist of the Year,” and it’s easy to see why. He didn’t need fancy lights or elaborate staging — just his guitar, a friend on the hand drums, and that incredible voice. His performance of “Lottery of Love” was a highlight and a great way to start the night.
After a brief intermission, it was time for Maddox Batson, and from the moment he took the stage, he had the mostly female crowd in the palm of his hand. His charisma and stage presence were undeniable, and his band sounded fantastic. Maddox, who was born in Hermitage, Tennessee and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, has been turning heads in the country scene. He’s signed with Warner Records through Prosper Entertainment and made his Grand Ole Opry debut earlier this year on March 26, 2025 — a huge milestone for such a young artist. His debut single, “Tears in the River,” broke into Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50 and racked up millions of streams, showing the kind of buzz he’s generating. He’s got over 404,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and his latest single, “Coincidence,” is definitely worth adding to your playlist. His live performance showcased a blend of modern country with a touch of southern rock and pop, proving he’s more than just a rising star — he’s the real deal.
Overall, it was an incredible night of country music in Omaha. Ryder Grimes set the tone beautifully, and Maddox Batson delivered a performance full of energy, heart, and genuine connection with the audience. If you haven’t seen Maddox live yet, make sure to catch him the next time he rolls through town. Great show!
