July 26, 2025 – The Astro – La Vista, NE
The Astro in La Vista, Nebraska was the place to be on Saturday night, July 26, 2025, as Macy Gray lit up the stage with her incredible 25th Anniversary Tour. The performance was nothing short of spectacular.
Macy Gray, born Natalie McIntyre in Canton, Ohio, is known for her unmistakable raspy voice and soulful sound. She broke out in 1999 with her debut album On How Life Is, which went triple platinum thanks to the massive hit “I Try.” The song earned her a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 2001, along with multiple other nominations and international awards.
Over the years, Macy has released ten studio albums and sold over 25 million records worldwide. She’s also made appearances in films like Training Day, Spider-Man, and Scary Movie 3. In 2017, she won an Independent Music Award for her jazz album Stripped. With her one-of-a-kind voice and fearless creativity, Macy Gray remains a standout in the world of music and entertainment.
She delivered a truly unforgettable performance in front of a small but mighty crowd at The Astro, proving once again that it’s not the size of the audience that matters—it’s the soul of the show. Dressed in a long, flowing green gown, paired with a black feather boa and fingerless gloves, she looked every bit the icon she is. Macy changed outfits a few times throughout the evening, each look as bold and beautiful as her voice.
She played for a solid hour and a half, filling the set with hits, deep cuts, and even a few surprises. One of the biggest highlights of the night was her hauntingly beautiful cover of Radiohead’s “Creep”—an emotional, spine-tingling moment that had the whole room locked in. The crowd loved every second, and the energy only grew as the show went on.
The encore was just as strong, with Macy wrapping things up on the perfect note—her signature hit “I Try” brought the house down and reminded everyone why they fell in love with her voice in the first place.
With over 3.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify and a stunning new cover of Alicia Keys’ “No One” as her latest single, Macy Gray is still very much in her prime. If you get the chance to see her live—don’t miss it.
Great show!
