Knotfest Rips Through Omaha

March 18, 2022 – CHI Health Center – Omaha, NE

Unless you’ve seen it live and in person, I don’t think anything can prepare you for the awesomeness of a Knotfest show.  On Friday night March 18, 2022, at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska, concertgoers were treated to a night of unforgettable head-banging entertainment.

The night kicked off with Wage War, a metalcore band from Ocala, Florida.  Briton Bond, Seth Blake, Cody Quistad, Chris Gaylord, and Stephen Kluesener make up the band, and they had the crowd pumped up!  The band has released 5 studio albums and has over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify!  They were great!

Next to the stage was In This Moment, an alternative metal band from Los Angeles, California.  Current members, Maria Brink, Chris Howorth, Travis Johnson, Randy Weitzel, and Kent Diimmel, took the stage, and the crowd went wild.  The group has been producing music and entertaining crowds since 2005, and has over 1.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify.  Nominated for Grammy Awards, Alternative Press Music Awards, and Loudwire Music Awards, they’ve definitely earned all of their success.  They’ve performed at Ozzfest, Warped Tour, and a slew of other huge music festivals.  They were the perfect choice to get the crowd primed for the headliners of the night.

After a brief intermission and short musical intro, the large curtain on the stage was ripped away, revealing a huge stage with lights, video screens, and the headliners for the evening, Slipknot!
This was my first time seeing them live, and all I can say is that you have to see them to believe them.  They were awesome!  Currently, the band is made up of nine members, including front man, Corey Taylor, Shawn Crahan, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Sid Wilson, Jim Root, Alessandro Venturella, Jay Weinberg, and Michael Pfaff.  Formed in Des Moines, Iowa in 1995, the band has been entertaining crowds for over 27 years, and from the looks and sounds of it, they’re not slowing down anytime soon!  They’ve been nominated for numerous Grammy Awards, and won a Grammy for the Best Metal Performance in 2009.  With over 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, their popularity spans the globe.  The masks, the staging, the fire, the video screens, the lighting, and the hard-hitting music, made for an awesome experience for concertgoers.  The crowd was on their feet, head-banging, dancing, moshing, and singing along for the 17-song set, and were even treated to an amazing encore performance.  If you have the opportunity to see Slipknot live, do it.  With their musical talents and stage theatrics combined, Slipknot definitely gives fans their money’s worth!
