August 8, 2025 – Pinewood Bowl Amphitheater – Lincoln, NE
It was a hot night in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 8, 2025, but the Pinewood Bowl Amphitheater proved to be the perfect backdrop for a full-on disco party. The evening kicked off with none other than the Village People, and right from the start, the energy was sky-high. Today’s lineup features Victor Willis, James Kwong, Jeffrey James Lippold, James Lee, Nicholas Manelick, and Javier Perez, and the group hasn’t missed a beat.
Known worldwide for their flamboyant costumes, catchy hooks, and singalong anthems, the Village People originally rose to fame in the late 1970s as disco icons and were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008 for their lasting impact on pop culture.
Their band was tight, their harmonies were sharp, and the crowd was fully engaged, dancing and belting out every word. Fans even showed up in costume, dressed as construction workers, cowboys, and cops, which only added to the party atmosphere.
With over 4.9 million monthly Spotify listeners and their mega-hit “Y.M.C.A.” boasting over 448 million streams, it’s clear their legacy is still alive and well.
The group tore through all their classics—“Macho Man,” “In the Navy,” and of course “Y.M.C.A.”—and it was a fun, nostalgic way to kick off the night.
After a short intermission, the amphitheater roared to life again as KC & The Sunshine Band took the stage.
Harry Wayne Casey, better known as KC, led the charge with a massive lineup behind him, including Maria De Crescenzo, Anika Mungin, Fermin Goytisolo, David Simmons, J Whitt, Steve Lashley, John Reid, Cisco Dimas, Miles Fielder, Felipe Lamoglia, Michael Joy, Nadia Albulet, and Tarian Green. With a full band, horn section, backup vocalists, and dancers draped in feather boas, the stage was overflowing with energy and showmanship.
Formed in 1973 in Miami, KC & The Sunshine Band became one of the defining acts of the disco era, winning three Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, and selling over 100 million records worldwide.
Their setlist was loaded with hits—“Get Down Tonight,” “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Boogie Shoes,” “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty,” and “I’m Your Boogie Man”—each one sending waves of excitement through the crowd. With over 7.6 million monthly Spotify listeners, they’ve shown no signs of slowing down, still touring and even releasing new music today.
The light show, dancers, and nonstop grooves made the night feel like stepping right back into disco’s golden age.
From start to finish, it was a feel-good, high-energy night packed with nostalgia, glitter, and funk. The Village People got the crowd moving, and KC & The Sunshine Band kept the party going strong until the very end. It wasn’t just a concert—it was a disco revival under the Nebraska stars.
