July 24, 2024 – Pinewood Bowl – Lincoln, NE

Lincoln, Nebraska was the setting for an amazing night of music when Jason Mraz brought his 2024 Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride Summer Tour to the Pinewood Bowl.

The weather was perfect for an outdoor show, and thousands of fans filled the amphitheater.

The show kicked off with Jason Mraz welcoming everyone and introducing his opener, the Molly Miller Trio.

Dr. Molly Miller picked up a guitar at seven and has been wowing audiences ever since with her unique mix of sophistication and raw talent. She’s a top musician in LA, playing and touring with big names like Jason Mraz, Black Eyed Peas, Donna Missal, and Morgxn, at famous spots like the Hollywood Bowl, Royal Albert Hall, and Coachella. Michael James Adam from Guitar magazine describes her as “slinging the guitar like a wordsmith, wry and sarcastic with a playful slant, effortlessly moving from a quiet whisper to bursts of joy.” She’s featured on Jason Mraz’s latest albums, Know and Look For the Good, and is part of the house band on The Bachelor’s new ABC show, Listen To Your Heart. After earning her Doctorate in Musical Arts from USC in 2016, she became the chair of the Guitar Department at Los Angeles College of Music, a role she still holds. When she’s not touring, running the guitar department, or in the studio, she leads her own group, the Molly Miller Trio, which has been showcased on NPR’s Fresh Air.

Molly and her band were really fun to listen to, and wow, Molly’s guitar skills are out of this world. She seamlessly blended different styles, going from smooth and mellow to upbeat and electrifying without missing a beat. The trio had such great chemistry, and you could tell they were having a blast on stage. Their energy was contagious, and the crowd was totally into it.

One of the highlights was when Molly played this incredible solo that left everyone in awe. It was like she was telling a story through her guitar. The drummer and bassist were spot on, providing the perfect backdrop for her to shine. They played some tracks from their latest album, and they were even better live.  If you ever get the chance to see the Molly Miller Trio, don’t miss it. The trio has over eight thousand monthly listeners on Spotify and their latest album, “The Ballad of Hotspur” is definitely worth checking out!

After a brief intermission, it was time for Jason Mraz!

Jason’s an awesome singer-songwriter known for his chill vibes and catchy tunes. He burst onto the scene with “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” back in 2002 and has been a favorite ever since. His biggest hit, “I’m Yours,” is an absolute classic that everyone loves to sing along to. It’s the kind of song that can instantly put you in a good mood.

Mraz has this incredible ability to blend pop, rock, and folk, creating a unique sound that’s all his own. He’s got a knack for writing lyrics that are both thoughtful and uplifting, often touching on themes of love, hope, and positivity. His albums, like “We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.” and “Love Is a Four Letter Word,” are filled with feel-good tracks that showcase his smooth vocals and impressive guitar skills.

Not only is he a fantastic musician, but he’s also known for his laid-back personality and commitment to environmental and social causes. He’s always spreading good vibes, whether through his music or his actions. Jason Mraz is one of those artists who has managed to stay relevant and beloved over the years, and it’s easy to see why. His talent, combined with his genuine spirit, makes him truly great.

His set was absolutely fantastic! From the moment he stepped on stage, he had everyone hooked. Jason’s voice sounded just as amazing live as it does on his albums, and his guitar skills were on point.

One of the best parts of the show was how funny and engaging he was. Between songs, he told hilarious stories and jokes that had the whole crowd laughing.

The setlist was perfect, with all the favorites like “I’m Yours,” “Lucky,” and “I Won’t Give Up.” Everyone was singing along, and the energy was incredible. He also played some newer tracks that were just as good, showing that he’s still got it after all these years.

Jason’s band was fantastic too, and they had great chemistry on stage. There were a few moments where they jammed and it felt like a party. The whole show was filled with positive vibes and left everyone feeling happy and uplifted. The stage was filled with all kinds of instruments, musicians, a huge video screen, and a lot of color!
