November 25, 2024 – Slowdown – Omaha, NE
Downtown Omaha, Nebraska was the place to be on Monday night November 24, 2024 because iDKHOW brought their iMPENDiNG GLOOM Tour to the Slowdown, and it was a fantastic show!
The night kicked off with ALEXSUCKS, an indie garage dance/punk band based out of Los Angeles, California, consisting of Alex Alvarez (vocals and guitar), Topgun (bass), John Luther (guitar), and Ethan Demoulin (drums). The band has just over 283 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and their latest EP Warm Beers, is definitely worth checking out.
They had great chemistry onstage and the crowd was definitely feeling their energy. Even with a few technical difficulties, they still had a fantastic set. They had the crowd dancing, singing along, and even getting low and jumping up and down at one point. It was a really fun way to kick off the evening.
ALEXSUCKS Setlist:
- Whatever I Want
- Can We Forget
- Talk To You
- Warm Beers
- The Gutter
- 6 Pack and Cigarettes
- Hate Me If you Want
- What’re We Doing Here
After a brief intermission, it was time for iDKHOW (I Don’t Know How But They Found Me)!
I was really excited for this set because I haven’t been able to catch an iDKHOW show for a few years, and they didn’t disappoint!
The band has touring members, but since September of last year, iDKHOW has become a solo project featuring Dallon Weekes who handles lead vocals, bass, guitar, synths, piano, ukulele, and production. iDKHOW currently has over 1.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and the latest release Gloom Division has some absolute bangers! (“Find Me” is my favorite.)
Weekes looked and sounded great. This guy is the epitome of cool, and from the moment he set foot onstage, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. The band sounded great and Weekes’ voice was spot on. The crowd even had the chance to get up close and personal when he ventured into the crowd for a few songs towards the end of the night.
This was one of iDKHOW’s last shows on this tour, but they seemed fresh and enthusiastic the whole time. Weekes thanked the crowd several times, and we reciprocated by singing and dancing all night.
What a great show!
Big thanks to iDKHOW’s management and the Slowdown for the chance to see them again!
