Halestorm with Kurt Deimer

Friday night, July 17, 2026, The Astro in La Vista, Nebraska was the place to be for an amazing rock show as Halestorm came to town. The weather was scorching hot, but once the music started, it was more than worth it.

The night kicked off with Kurt Deimer and his band, and they did a great job getting the crowd ready for Halestorm.

Deimer is an actor, musician, and rock singer-songwriter from Cincinnati, Ohio. Before moving into music and film, he owned multiple startup companies, including an oil brand called Starfire. His path into entertainment started in an unexpected way when he secured a brand placement in the film Trading Paint, which eventually led to a speaking role opposite John Travolta, Toby Sebastian, and Shania Twain. He later appeared in the 2018 horror film Halloween, sharing the screen with Michael Myers.

On the music side, Deimer started releasing songs in 2021 after connecting with manager Andy Gould and guitarist Phil X of Bon Jovi. His EP Work Hard, Rock Hard features Phil X and Geoff Tate of Queensrÿche and was produced by Chris Lord-Alge. He has also toured in support of artists like Geoff Tate, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tesla, and Drowning Pool.

Deimer and his band brought positive vibes, good energy, and a solid rock sound to open the night. It was a nice way to get things started, and the crowd seemed ready for more by the time they left the stage.

After a brief intermission, it was time for Halestorm.

Halestorm is an American rock band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, made up of Lzzy Hale on lead vocals and guitar, Arejay Hale on drums, Joe Hottinger on guitar, and Josh Smith on bass. Lzzy and Arejay started the band in 1997 when they were still kids, and over the years, Halestorm has grown into one of the most consistent and respected bands in modern rock.

Their self-titled debut album was released in 2009, followed by The Strange Case Of… in 2012. That album included “Love Bites (So Do I),” which won the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance. That win was a major moment for the band, making Halestorm the first female-fronted band to both be nominated and win in that category.

Since then, they have continued to build an impressive career with albums like Into the Wild Life, Vicious, Back from the Dead, and their sixth album, Everest, which was released in 2025. They are also known for their relentless touring schedule, often performing hundreds of shows a year, and that experience shows every time they step onstage.

When Halestorm came out, the crowd was ready, and the band gave them exactly what they came for.

Lzzy Hale’s voice was strong throughout the whole set. She has one of those rock voices that sounds even better live, full of power, grit, and control. She can scream, belt, and pull everything back when the song needs it, and it never feels like she is holding anything back.

The rest of the band was locked in all night too. Arejay Hale is always entertaining to watch behind the drums, Joe Hottinger brought plenty of fire on guitar, and Josh Smith kept everything grounded on bass. Together, they sounded huge.

Major kudos to the whole band for putting on such an amazing show despite the heat. It was the kind of night where you could feel the temperature before the music even started, but Halestorm still came out with full energy and never let up.

That is one of the things that makes Halestorm so impressive. They don’t coast through a set. They perform like they mean it, and the crowd feeds off that. The energy between the band and the fans was strong all night, and The Astro was the perfect place for it.

Halestorm currently has over 3.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and they are clearly still going strong. With a catalog full of hard rock anthems, a Grammy win, years of touring, and a frontwoman like Lzzy Hale, it is easy to understand why they have such a loyal fanbase.

This was an amazing rock show from start to finish. Kurt Deimer and his band got the night started with good energy, and Halestorm delivered a powerful, loud, and unforgettable set.
