May 15, 2026 – Stir Cove – Council Bluffs, IA
Friday night, May 15, 2026, was an absolutely perfect night for rock and roll in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as Hairball brought their 2026 Balls to the Wall Tour to Stir Cove. It was the third concert in this year’s Summer Concert Series, and if this show was any indication, Stir Cove is already off to a killer start.
Before Hairball took the stage, the night kicked off with Omaha locals Evandale, and they were a perfect choice to get things started. Evandale is a hard rock band based out of Omaha, known for mixing classic rock and roll with a modern, high-energy edge. The five-piece band consists of Eddie Jay on lead vocals, Chad Riche on guitar and vocals, Cody Du on bass and vocals, Ryan Lang on drums, and Jake Loehr on guitar.
The band formed in 2017 and played their debut show in 2018. Since then, they have built a strong local following and even won Best New Artist at the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards in 2019. They have also opened for major acts like Steel Panther, Bowling for Soup, and Pop Evil, which says a lot about the kind of energy they bring to the stage.
Evandale had Stir Cove rocking right away. Eddie sounded great on vocals, the band had strong stage presence, and it was obvious they had a lot of hometown fans in the crowd. Their set had the right mix of attitude, energy, and musicianship, and they did a great job getting the crowd ready for the main event. It was a great way to start the show.
Evandale Setlist:
After a brief intermission, it was time for Hairball.
I’ve seen these guys so many times that I’ve honestly lost count, and they are absolutely one of my favorite bands to see live. Hairball is not just a tribute band. They are a full-blown rock and roll experience. Their energy and entertainment value are off the charts, and every time they come to town, they give fans their money’s worth.
Hairball is known for turning a concert into an event, and that is exactly what they did at Stir Cove. The lights, sound, smoke, fire, costumes, props, and nonstop energy all came together to create one massive rock party. Vocalists Kris Vox, Dave Moody, and Patrick Stone led the show through a wild celebration of some of the biggest arena rock acts of all time, including KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Loverboy, AC/DC and more.
One of the coolest things about a Hairball show is how quickly the stage transforms from one rock concert into another. One minute you feel like you are watching a Led Zeppelin show, then suddenly you are in the middle of a KISS-style spectacle, and then it shifts again into something completely different. It keeps the crowd locked in from start to finish.
The band behind it all is just as impressive. HBK on bass, Billy on drums, and Happy on lead guitar help drive the whole show with serious talent and personality. They nail the riffs, the solos, and the feel of the songs, while still bringing their own style to everything they do. You can tell these guys live and breathe rock and roll.
Hairball delivered another solid show from beginning to end. The crowd was into it all night, singing along, cheering, and soaking up every bit of the chaos. Some of my friends were seeing them for the first time, and by the end of the night, they were already saying they would definitely see them again the next time they come back to town.
That is the magic of Hairball. Even if you know what to expect, they still find a way to make the show feel huge. The production is massive, the energy never lets up, and the whole thing feels like a celebration of everything people love about classic arena rock.
If you have never experienced Hairball live, you are missing out. This is not just a concert. It is loud, fiery, over-the-top, and ridiculously fun. Stir Cove was the perfect setting for it, and Hairball once again proved why they are one of the most entertaining live acts around.
What a show!
