George Lopez & Bryan Kellen

February 21, 2026 – The Astro – La Vista, NE

Saturday night, February 21, 2026, La Vista, Nebraska was the place to be if you needed a good laugh. The Astro was packed, and before the comedy even started, the audience was treated to a live mariachi band as people found their seats. It set such a fun tone for the night and had the crowd smiling before the first comedian even grabbed the mic.

Bryan Kellen opened the show, and he wasted no time getting everyone warmed up. Bryan has this rubber-bodied, high-energy style that makes it impossible not to watch him. His mix of storytelling, observational humor, and physical comedy just works. He mostly told hilarious stories about his wife and family, and he was not afraid to make himself the punchline. Whether he was poking fun at his appearance or sharing awkward life moments, the whole set felt relatable and real. The crowd was laughing hard and often, which is exactly what you want from an opener.

Bryan’s career has been impressive to watch. Just two years after stepping on stage for the first time, he won the Rocky Mountain Laff-Off in Salt Lake City. He followed that with a second place finish at the prestigious Seattle International Comedy Competition. Entertainment Business Journal even named him one of the Top 100 Comedians in the Country. He has appeared on NBC, Comedy Central, HBO, Last Comic Standing, Comics Unleashed, and Lopez Tonight, and the National Comedy Hall of Fame once called him America’s Best Up-and-Coming Comedian. He also popped up on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and has been a regular theater tour opener for George Lopez, who clearly recognized Bryan’s ability to turn uncomfortable life experiences into comedy gold. With Bryan currently touring, writing a book, working on a screenplay, and developing a new show, it feels like he is just getting started. He delivered a very funny set and had the crowd fully ready for the headliner.

When George Lopez took the stage, The Astro absolutely erupted. He walked out in a full suit and tie, looking sharp as ever, but with his long hair and beard giving him that wide-eyed, slightly wild edge that somehow makes him even funnier. The energy in the room instantly jumped.

George Lopez has been a powerhouse in comedy for decades. He became a household name with his hit ABC sitcom George Lopez, which ran for six seasons and earned him widespread recognition. Over the years, he has received multiple awards and honors, including being named one of Time magazine’s Top 25 Hispanics in America and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has hosted late night television, starred in films, headlined countless comedy tours, and has been recognized for his contributions to both entertainment and the Latino community.

At The Astro, he reminded everyone exactly why he is still one of the best to do it. He talked about growing up, his family, getting older, and the everyday chaos of life, all delivered with that classic George Lopez timing and attitude. His jokes felt sharp, honest, and sometimes a little edgy, but always hilarious. The crowd was laughing nonstop. There were moments when you could barely hear him over the roar of the audience.

From the mariachi welcome to Bryan Kellen’s high-energy opener to George Lopez owning the stage, it was a hilarious night of comedy from start to finish. If you ever get the chance to see George Lopez live, do it. Nights like this are exactly why live comedy hits different.
