George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic

May 24, 2025 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE

What better way to spend a Saturday night than getting down to some serious funk?

George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic lit up Steelhouse in Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, delivering another unforgettable performance. This was my second time seeing them live, and somehow, they managed to top the first. With no opening act, the crowd didn’t have to wait long to jump straight into the groove.

In case you’re not familiar, George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic are legendary pioneers of funk music, known for their wild style, psychedelic sound, and boundary-pushing performances.

Clinton, the mastermind behind the movement, started out in doo-wop before transforming the music scene in the 1970s with two interconnected bands: Parliament and Funkadelic. Together, they blended funk, rock, soul, and psychedelia into something totally new and unforgettable.

Clinton and his crew created iconic tracks like “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker),” “Flash Light,” and “One Nation Under a Groove.” Their influence stretched far beyond funk—helping shape hip-hop, R&B, and even rock for generations to come.

Over the years, their impact hasn’t gone unnoticed. George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, and they received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. Known for their wild costumes, space-age themes, and infectious grooves, they’ve become one of the most influential groups in music history.

George was all smiles the entire time—you could tell he was loving every minute of it. Barefoot but rocking a sparkly vest and hat, he brought the energy and style only he can.

The band was incredible. There are so many members on stage at once—guitarists, drummers, singers, horns —it’s almost impossible to keep track of everyone, but it all comes together in this beautiful, chaotic funk explosion.

The crowd was fully into it, dancing all night and soaking up every funky beat. If you’ve never seen P-Funk live, it’s truly something you have to experience for yourself.

Another fantastic show at Steelhouse!
