Foreigner Brings the Heat to Stir Cove in Council Bluffs

June 29, 2025 – Stir Cove – Council Bluffs, IA

Sunday night, June 29, 2025, was a scorcher in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and the heat didn’t let up at Stir Cove as thousands of fans gathered for a night of rock and roll with Foreigner.

The show kicked off with Gallivant, a high-energy rock trio from Omaha. Sam Hayes, Josh Craig, and Joe Donnelly absolutely crushed their set. They looked like rockstars and played like pros, winning the crowd over. Their albums Celestials and Leavenworth are must-adds to any rock playlist. Gallivant set the tone perfectly for the night, and the crowd couldn’t get enough.

After a short break, it was time for Foreigner, and they did not disappoint.

In case you’re not familiar, Foreigner is a legendary rock band that originally formed in 1976, blending British and American talent. Founded by guitarist Mick Jones, they quickly rose to fame with hits like “Feels Like the First Time,” “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” and their chart-topping ballad “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

The band has sold over 80 million records worldwide and earned multiple platinum albums. Foreigner’s impact on rock is undeniable—founding members Mick Jones and Lou Gramm were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Today, Foreigner continues to tour and bring their iconic sound to fans around the world with a powerhouse lineup: Kelly Hansen on vocals, Jeff Pilson on bass, Michael Bluestein on keyboards, Chris Frazier on drums, Bruce Watson on guitar, and Luis Maldonado on rhythm guitar. Together, they keep the band’s legacy alive and rocking.

The band rolled through a set packed with iconic hits, and the crowd sang along to every word. Kelly Hansen delivered powerhouse vocals and kept the energy high all night. Jeff Pilson brought the thunder on bass, Michael Bluestein held things down on keys, Chris Frazier was on fire behind the drums, and guitarists Bruce Watson and Luis Maldonado lit up the stage with killer solos and riffs.

With classics like “Cold as Ice,” “Juke Box Hero,” “I Want to Know What Love Is,” and “Hot Blooded,” Foreigner reminded everyone why they’re one of the most legendary rock bands of all time. It was a night of nonstop singalongs, air guitar, and good vibes—proof that Foreigner still knows how to bring the heat, both literally and musically.
