A small but mighty crowd packed the Whiskey Roadhouse in Council Bluffs on Saturday night, May 3, 2025, as Edwin McCain rolled into town and delivered a fantastic performance.

In case you’re not familiar, Edwin McCain is a South Carolina-born singer-songwriter best known for his heartfelt ballads and lasting presence in the American music scene. He rose to fame in the late 1990s with hits like “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask for More,” both of which became staples at weddings and on radio playlists. Over his career, McCain has released eleven studio albums, with several landing on the Billboard 200 chart.

In addition to his musical success, McCain has been recognized for his contributions to the arts and his community. In 2010, he was honored by Full Sail University’s Hall of Fame, and in 2024, he was deputized by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office for his work raising awareness about substance abuse and his commitment to sobriety.He continues to tour extensively, performing solo, with his band, and alongside symphony orchestras, connecting with fans across the country through his timeless music.

His set was fantastic. The venue might be small, but he had the whole place rocking and completely captivated from start to finish. His voice still sounds fantastic—just as strong and emotional as ever. On top of that, he was genuinely funny, cracking jokes and keeping the crowd laughing between songs. It felt more like hanging out with an old friend than watching a concert. An unforgettable night with a truly talented performer. If you get the chance to see him live, make sure you do!
