Daughtry: Adrenaline Gone Ballistic Holiday Tour

December 18, 2024 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE

On the night of Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Daughtry brought his Adrenaline Gone Ballistic Holiday Tour to the Steelhouse in Omaha, Nebraska, and the show was incredible! The evening kicked off with standout performances from opening acts Devour the Day and Sleep Theory.

Devour the Day started the night with an electrifying 7-song set that got the crowd buzzing. The band was formed in 2012 by Joey Walser and Blake Allison, both former members of Egypt Central. They quickly made waves with their debut album, Time & Pressure, featuring hits like “Good Man” and “Respect.” Their sound blended hard rock with melodic hooks that created a sound that appealed to fans in the crowd at Steelhouse.  Over the years, Devour the Day has earned a reputation for their energetic live shows and awesome stage presence, and they delivered that here! They currently have over 177 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and their latest EP, Fragments Of Us, is definitely worth checking out.

  • Nobody Owns Me
  • Good Man

After a brief intermission, it was time for Sleep Theory. The band’s first song, “Another Way,” blew up on TikTok back in 2023, racking up 500k views in just 36 hours, but their so-called “overnight success” was actually years in the making. After leaving the US Army, vocalist Cullen Moore threw himself into the music world, putting everything into making his dream a reality. He officially started Sleep Theory in 2019 as a studio project, blending his love for hard rock, funk, and R&B into something fresh.

Fast forward to now, and Sleep Theory has grown into a powerhouse four-piece band that includes Moore, Daniel Pruitt, Paolo Vergara, and Ben Pruitt.  Their first two tracks both hit #1 on SiriusXM’s Octane, they’ve played to massive crowds on their debut shows, and they’ve signed with Epitaph Records to drop their first EP. Mixing metalcore-style breakdowns with bluesy grooves and radio-friendly hooks, they’ve hit 13 million global streams in just six months, with their track “Numb” breaking into the Top 40 on the Active Rock chart.

These guys were fantastic!  Cullen Moore was brought to the stage in a wheelchair and air cast on his foot, but that didn’t stop him from delivering a powerful performance. He still managed to nail every note and brought so much energy to the stage, the crowd was hooked. The band sounded great too, and the way they mixed hard-hitting riffs with soulful grooves was just next-level.

They currently have 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and their latest single, “Paralyzed” is definitely worth adding to your rock playlist.  Awesome set!

Just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, it was time for Daughtry!  As the lights faded and a blue haze covered the stage, Chris Daughtry and his band appeared and the crowd went nuts.  They kicked things off with “The Reckoning,” and from the first note, I knew their set was going to be awesome!

In case you’re not familiar, Daughtry burst onto the scene when lead singer Chris Daughtry wowed audiences as a finalist on American Idol in 2006. Although he didn’t win the competition, it didn’t matter—his powerhouse vocals and rock-star charisma quickly launched his career. Forming the band Daughtry later that year, they dropped their self-titled debut album, which became an instant hit. The record went quadruple platinum, thanks to smash singles like “It’s Not Over” and “Home.”

Over the years, Daughtry has racked up multiple awards, including American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards, and they’ve been nominated for Grammys. Known for their blend of radio-friendly rock and heartfelt ballads, the band continues to captivate fans worldwide, selling millions of albums and putting on unforgettable live shows.

This night was no different. Their set was absolutely unforgettable, packed with powerful moments and a sense of connection that made it so much more than just a show. One of the most magical parts of the night came when Chris switched things up with acoustic versions of “Home” and “September.” The stripped-down vibe let his incredible voice shine, and the crowd was right there with him, singing every word. It felt like everyone in Steelhouse was united in that moment.

That was definitely a highlight, but my favorite part of their set was their cover of Journey’s “Separate Ways.” Chris nailed every note with raw emotion and added his own unique flair, turning it into something fresh while still honoring the original. It was a total showstopper that had everyone on their feet.

What really stood out to me, though, was Chris’s genuine message to the audience. He made it clear that Daughtry concerts are a safe, welcoming space for everyone—no matter your race, sexual preference, gender identity, or background. It added an extra layer of meaning to an already phenomenal night. Music has a way of bringing people together, and Daughtry proved that in spades.

Daughtry currently has over 3.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and the band’s latest EP, Shock to the System (Part One) is awesome!

This was an absolutely amazing show to close out 2024!
