July 25, 2025 – Stir Cove – Council Bluffs, IA

It was an unforgettable night of music as Darius Rucker brought his 2025 summer tour to Stir Cove in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Friday, July 25. The evening began with a standout performance by Shane Profitt, who got the crowd fired up right from the start.

Profitt is a rising country artist from Columbia, Tennessee, known for his relatable lyrics and small-town charm. He didn’t start playing guitar until he was 18, when his grandfather gave him one for Christmas and taught him a few chords. Within months, Shane was writing songs and performing locally while working a day job mowing medians for the city. A chance meeting with country star Chris Janson led to a publishing deal and an opening spot on tour, eventually landing Shane a record deal with Big Machine Label Group.

His debut EP, Maury County Line, dropped in 2022, and the lead single “How It Oughta Be” climbed to No. 16 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. He followed it up with fan favorites like “Better Off Fishin’” and “Country Boys.” In 2025, Shane signed with Triple Tigers Records and released “Long Live Country,” which quickly gained traction at country radio. He’s already performed at the Grand Ole Opry and toured with acts like Jason Aldean, Scotty McCreery, and  now, Darius Rucker. With heartfelt songs and a strong stage presence, Shane Profitt is quickly making a name for himself in country music, and his set at Stir was awesome!

After a brief intermission, it was time for Darius Rucker!

Rucker first rose to fame in the ’90s as the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish. Their debut album Cracked Rear View was a massive success, featuring hits like “Let Her Cry” and “Only Wanna Be With You,” and earned them two Grammy Awards. In 2008, Rucker made the leap to country music and quickly found success with his debut country album Learn to Live. He became the first Black artist to win the CMA New Artist of the Year award in 2009.

His solo career took off with chart-topping hits like “Alright,” “It Won’t Be Like This for Long,” and his Grammy-winning version of “Wagon Wheel,” which became one of the best-selling country singles of all time. He’s had ten No. 1 singles on country radio, four No. 1 albums on the Billboard Country chart, and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2012.This guy knows how to put on a show!

From the moment he stepped on stage, he was warm, personable, and genuinely happy to be there. He kept flashing that signature smile throughout the night and made the crowd feel like old friends. His voice sounded just as strong live as it does on his records—smooth, rich, and full of emotion. Whether he was singing his country hits or throwing it back to his Hootie & the Blowfish days, every song hit the mark. It was a feel-good night full of great music and good vibes, and Darius made it clear why he’s been a fan favorite for so many years.
