Cirque Mechanics Dazzles in Omaha

January 21, 2020 – Orpheum Theater – Omaha, NE

On Tuesday night January 21, 2020, Cirque Mechanics dazzled a crowd at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Omaha, Nebraska.

The “menagerie of mechanical marvels”, Cirque Mechanics, was founded in 2004 by Boston native, Chris Lashua.  Spectacle Magazine has referred to the show as, “the greatest contribution to the American circus since Cirque du Soleil”, and it’s easy to see why.

Dazzling the crowd with traditional circus acts, the show featured a strongman, trapeze artists, slack wire performers, a ringleader, jugglers, aerial artists, and more!  There were two acts in the show, and from the opening sequence, the audience was hooked.  A few of my favorite acts were the knife-throwing wheel, the sword-swallowing exhibition, and the Russian Swing.

Producer, Chris Lashua has assembled a cast that’s truly remarkable.  From the acrobats and the clown, to the jugglers and the strongman, each act captured the audience’s attention, and created some absolutely breathtaking moments.  As if the performances weren’t enough, the production included circus-inspired costumes, makeup, and the perfect music to set the mood.

If you have the chance, I’d highly recommend attending this show.  For children and grownups alike, Cirque Mechanics was well worth the price of admission!
