August 30, 2025 – Unity Festival – Gene Leahy Mall – Omaha, NE
Saturday night, August 30, 2025, downtown Omaha’s Gene Leahy Mall was the place to be because Freedomtainment and Casa de la Cultura – South Omaha held their Unity Festival, and headliner CeeLo Green brought the perfect finale to a full day of music, culture, and celebration. The festival itself was all about bringing communities together, and CeeLo delivered a performance that fit the spirit of the event perfectly.
CeeLo Green is no stranger to putting on a show. With five Grammy Awards under his belt, he’s had a career full of highlights, from his days with Goodie Mob to topping charts with Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” which Rolling Stone listed among the greatest songs of all time. He’s also had a successful solo career with hits like “Forget You,” a track that’s become one of the most iconic pop songs of the 2010s. Beyond the music, he’s even made a name for himself as a television personality, serving as a coach on NBC’s The Voice.
When it was time for CeeLo to take the stage, the energy shifted instantly. Dressed in all white with his signature sunglasses, he came out with just his DJ and drummer and still managed to command the whole pavilion. His set was a great mix of his own hits and some unexpected covers from legends like Prince and Michael Jackson, which had the crowd singing and dancing the entire time. The atmosphere was electric—people of all ages on their feet, vibing with every beat.
Unfortunately, Omaha’s curfew forced him to wrap up his set a little earlier than planned, but he made the most of every moment on stage. His charisma, powerhouse vocals, and crowd connection left no doubt why he’s considered one of the greats. CeeLo currently has over 12.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and his newest single “Go To Hell” with Cheat Codes shows he’s still cranking out fresh, creative music worth adding to your playlist.
CeeLo Green was a fantastic headliner and the perfect closer to Unity Fest. His performance capped off an already incredible day of community, culture, and celebration in downtown Omaha.
