August 21, 2022 – Iowa State Fair – Des Moines, IA

The annual Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, is the single largest event in the state of Iowa.  Attracting more than one million visitors from around the world every year, the fair is Iowa’s greatest celebration, lasts eleven days, and features only the best agriculture, food, and entertainment.

On Sunday night August 21, 2022, country music icon, Carrie Underwood and her band treated fans to an unforgettable performance.  

Before Carrie took the stage, the night’s entertainment kicked off with Adam Sanders, who, before hitting hit big, wrote songs for Dustin Lynch, Cole Swindell, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, and Blake Shelton.  Sanders had great energy, and was the perfect choice to warm up the crowd.  He has over 248 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, over 100 million streams, over 70,000 singles sold, and has been on Billboard’s Top 40 Country Albums chart.  Seeing him perform his hit song, “What If I’m Right”, was a real treat.  Sanders and his band sounded great, and got the crowd primed and ready for the headliner.

After a few minutes to change out the set and let a little anticipation build, country music superstar Carrie Underwood took the stage, and the crowd went crazy.  Decked out in a long yellow and black checkered flannel, blinged-out black cut-off jean shorts, and boots, Underwood looked stunning!  In addition to being the season four winner of American Idol, Underwood has also won multiple Grammy Awards, multiple Academy of Country Music Awards, multiple American Music Awards, and two Country Music Association Awards.  Her performance showed why she’s been so successful.  She looked and sounded amazing!  Her 21 song set included some of her classic hits as well as a few newer songs, and from the moment she came on stage, to the moment she ended her set, fans were singing, dancing, and waving their hands and cell phones in the air.  Underwood has over 8.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and has been dubbed, “the female vocalist of her generation in any genre”, by Rolling Stone Magazine.  If you have the chance to see her in concert, do it!  You will not be disappointed!
