Boys Like Girls: The Soundtrack of Your Life Tour

March 22, 2026 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE

Sunday night in downtown Omaha brought a packed house to Steelhouse as Boys Like Girls returned to town for another high-energy show. I’ve seen these guys a handful of times over the years, and they’ve always delivered, so I came in with pretty high expectations

The night kicked off with Arrows in Action, a band I wasn’t super familiar with going in, but they made an impression right away. The trio out of Nashville has been steadily building a following in the alt-pop/rock scene, even landing spots on major tours and getting recognition from outlets like Alternative Press. They’ve also had songs chart on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart, which says a lot about where they’re headed.

Victor Viramontes-Pattison handled vocals and guitar, alongside Matthew Fowler on guitar and Jesse Frimmel on drums, and they sounded tight from start to finish. With over 940,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and their latest release “Stop Talking” gaining traction, it’s easy to see why the crowd was into them. Honestly, they were a perfect opener and set the tone for the night.

Next up was I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, better known as iDKHOW, and this marked my fourth time seeing them live. Frontman Dallon Weekes has a way of owning the stage that’s hard to ignore. Whether it’s his background with Panic! At The Disco or the band’s growing cult following, he brings a ton of personality into every performance.

The band has built a strong reputation in the indie scene, with releases like Razzmatazz earning critical praise and helping them land on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. With over 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, they’ve clearly found their audience. Live, they’re just as entertaining as ever. The energy was high, the crowd was locked in, and it felt like everyone in the room knew exactly what they were there for.

iDKHOW Setlist:

  • Leave Me Alone
  • SPKOTHDVL
  • Choke
  • New Invention
  • Gloomtown Brats

After a short break, it was time for Boys Like Girls to take the stage. Formed in the mid-2000s, the band quickly rose to fame with hits like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” both of which helped them carve out a major spot in the pop-rock scene. Their debut album went platinum, and they’ve continued to maintain a loyal fanbase ever since.

The set didn’t get off to the smoothest start. There was a bit of chaos early on with a fight in the crowd and some technical issues that slowed things down. On top of that, lead singer Martin Johnson had a few moments where he voiced frustration about the venue and stage setup, which took away from the vibe a little.

Once things settled in, the band found their groove. From there, it turned into exactly what fans came for. A solid run through their biggest songs, with the crowd singing along to nearly every word. To their credit, they made sure to tell Omaha they were happy to be back, and the nearly sold-out Steelhouse crowd gave that energy right back.

All in all, it was a really fun night of live music. Strong openers, a passionate crowd, and a headliner that, despite a few bumps early on, still delivered when it mattered.
