Concert Reviews

Black Veil Brides, VV, & Dark Divine

October 6, 2023 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE

Steelhouse in Omaha, Nebraska played host to a remarkable concert on October 6, 2023. The triple-bill featuring Black Veil Brides, Ville Valo, and Dark Divine delivered an unforgettable experience for lovers of gothic and alternative music.

The evening commenced with Dark Divine, a rising force in the gothic rock scene, hailing from Orlando, Florida. With their dark and ethereal soundscapes, they set the mood for the night perfectly. The band was decked out with amazing face paint and gothic outfits that added a dramatic effect to their set.  Their latest album, “Deadly Fun” is definitely worth a listen!

Ville Valo, formerly the frontman of HIM, followed Dark Divine with a mesmerizing performance. Valo’s unique blend of gothic rock and melancholic melodies was a hit with the crowd. Songs like “Wings of a Butterfly” and “Join Me in Death” transported the audience to a world of longing and darkness, showcasing Valo’s distinctive vocal prowess and stage presence. The crowd swayed and sang along to every word, basking in the enchanting ambiance created by his music. He has over 236 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify, and has won numerous awards.

The highlight of the evening for me was Black Veil Brides.

As they took the stage, Steelhouse was filled with anticipation. The band’s electrifying presence and theatrical performance style brought their signature gothic metalcore to life. With a setlist featuring hits like “Wake Up,” “Fallen Angels,” and “In the End,” the audience was immersed in a world of dark romance and rebellion.

Black Veil Brides’ visual presentation added to the drama and intensity of their performance.

What made this concert unique was the unity of the audience. It was clear that everyone in attendance  shared a deep connection to the gothic and alternative music genres. The crowd was a sea of black clothing, leather, and tattoos, all celebrating their love for the dark, emotional, and powerful music on display.

The atmosphere in Steelhouse was one of kinship and acceptance, where everyone felt free to express their unique identity.

The Black Veil Brides, Ville Valo, and Dark Divine concert was a night of gothic excellence. Each act brought its own unique style, creating a diverse and immersive experience for fans of dark and alternative music. The night was a testament to the power of music to evoke deep emotions and connect people who share a love for the dark and beautiful.

If you have a chance to attend a concert featuring these artists, don’t miss it – it’s an experience that will linger in your soul long after the final note!
