September 12, 2025 – Steelhouse – Omaha, NE
Steelhouse in downtown Omaha was the place to be on Friday night, September 12, 2025, because Lake Street Dive brought their tour to town, and the place was buzzing from start to finish. The opener was Lawrence, the New York-based soul-pop band led by siblings Clyde and Gracie Lawrence. They’ve been making a name for themselves with albums like Family Business, and one of their songs, “Don’t Lose Sight,” even landed in a Microsoft commercial, giving them a huge boost. They’ve toured with big names like the Jonas Brothers and The Rolling Stones and have made appearances at festivals like Coachella and Bonnaroo. With over 1.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, it’s no surprise they came out with incredible energy. Their set was fun, upbeat, and the perfect way to get the crowd hyped for what was coming next.
After a short break, Lake Street Dive hit the stage, and it was obvious why they’ve built such a loyal following. The setup was simple but stylish, with a big arch lit up in shifting colors that set the mood without being over the top. The band—Rachael Price, Bridget Kearney, Mike Calabrese, Akie Bermiss, and James Cornelison—fed off each other’s energy the whole night. Rachael’s powerhouse vocals carried the show, Bridget’s basslines were tight, and the rhythm section kept everything locked in. You could tell they were having just as much fun as the audience.
Lake Street Dive has been at it since the early 2000s, and along the way, they’ve racked up some pretty impressive achievements. Bridget Kearney won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest early in their career, which helped launch their first album. Their 2018 record Free Yourself Up cracked the Billboard Top 10, they wrote the theme song for Somebody Feed Phil, which earned them an Emmy nomination, and just last year they were nominated for a Grammy for Good Together. Right now, they’ve got more than 3.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down. Their recent collaboration with Lawrence, The City Winery Sessions, is a great example of how these two bands complement each other.
The show itself was a blast—high energy, tons of crowd interaction, and that perfect mix of polished musicianship with a laid-back vibe. Every song felt like a moment, and the crowd soaked up every bit of it. If you get the chance to catch Lake Street Dive live, don’t hesitate. It’s a night full of positive energy, great music, and one of those concerts you leave smiling.
