August 7, 2025 – The Astro – La Vista, NE
Thursday night, August 7, 2025, The Astro in La Vista, Nebraska was the place to be as Slightly Stoopid brought their Step Into the Sun 2025 Summer Tour to town, and the night turned into one long party with incredible music from start to finish.
The show opened with Little Stranger, the Philadelphia-born, Charleston-based alternative hip hop duo made up of Kevin and John Shields (no relation). Since forming in 2015, they’ve built a reputation for clever, genre-bending tracks, racking up over 664,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. They’ve even taken home City Paper Music Awards’ Hip-Hop Artist of the Year twice, and their live set proved why. Dressed in sleeveless basketball jerseys with tattoos on full display, they were both laid-back and electric at the same time, with a few surprise guest appearances keeping the energy high. Their latest single, “Brain Stew,” is an easy addition to any hip hop/reggae playlist.
This was my third time seeing them live, and they get better every time! Fantastic way to start the show!
Next up was Iration, a reggae-pop powerhouse made up of Micah Pueschel, Adam Taylor, Joseph Dickens, Cayson Peterson, Micah Brown, Drake Peterson, and Tony Rinaldi. These guys know how to turn any venue into a tropical escape, and their resume proves it—early hits like “Time Bomb” and “Falling” went Gold, and their first four albums all hit #1 on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart. Their smooth, sun-soaked set felt tailor-made for a summer night in Nebraska, and their new single, “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride,” was the perfect soundtrack for anyone dreaming of the beach!

After a short intermission, Slightly Stoopid took the stage, and the crowd exploded. The San Diego-based band—Miles Doughty, Kyle McDonald, Ryan Moran, DeLa, Paul Wolstencroft, and Andy Geib—are known for fusing just about every genre under the sun: reggae, rock, funk, blues, punk, even hip hop, and they did not disappoint. With over 3.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, they’ve built a loyal following, and it showed as fans sang along to every song, danced non-stop, and filled the amphitheater with a familiar haze (wink wink). From the first chord to the final note, Slightly Stoopid had complete control of the stage, proving once again that they know exactly how to put on a killer show.
All three bands were so good that any one of them could’ve headlined, but together they made the night unforgettable.
